One Sheet Wonder Series

Hello my crafty Peeps! Today I have cards 2 & 3 in my One Sheet Wonder series.
To refresh memories...I took a piece of SU Pop of Pink DSP and cut it up using a template I found on Pinterest. I think this technique works best with double sided paper. You get double the possibilities. Maybe too many possibilities. Lol.
There are 2 pieces on each card of the Pop DSP. The 'ribbon' strips are a piece of scrap whisper white CS that was 8.5in long. I stamped one side in basic black & the other in melon mambo. Cut in half to use on each card. The polka dot stamp is from Timeless Textures (a must have stamp set!) I also added a delicate doily under the Pop DSP square. I used a corner rounder on the square. Small butterflies are from Papillion Potpourri stamp set and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly punch. I used the Elegant Butterfly punch with whisper white CS and Melon Mambo to go being the small butterflies. Wink of Stella covered both butterflies cause..why not?
'Hello' sentiment and heart are from Jar of Love. Hello was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The heart was stamped in Real Red then Versamark and heat embossed in clear. Photopolymer stamps are the bomb! Makes double stamping so easy!
Last, but not least, rhinestones decorate the body of the butterflies.
These are really simple cards that can be put together in a matter on minutes. When in doubt..add layers. Make it your own. And, most important, have fun!
Until next time, happy creating!

Elsa Birthday Shaker card

Hello my crafty peeps!
At the beginning of the month a certain little girl turned 4! The theme for her party was Frozen, of course. We are a fully committed Disney family after all. Add my current obsession with shaker cards and I knew what I had to do. I got on Cricut Design Space, cause I own most of the Disney cartridges. I've been using the print and cut feature alot lately. It's so much easier than dealing with adhering all the paper layers. This is a Stampin' Up! free project. I have so much in my stash that I have to use up before I can fully justify using SU exclusively. And I have commitment issues...
So back to Design Space. Open a new project and set your canvas to a top folding card in landscape. Most of my cards have a white base so I set the canvas color to white. Add a 4x5.25 rectangle for the front of the card. Change the color to white. While you're at it, add a circle to the center for the shaker window. I did end up die cutting the circle with my Big Shot and the layering circles framelits. Guess I wasn't completely SU free. But you could absolutely cut the circle on your cricut. I found the bracket border and put it behind the circle. If you're using just your cricut, you're going to want to slice the circle out of the border. There's quite a few tutorials on this if you're unsure how to do it. Next, Elsa time! I found the image that I wanted to use, flattened the layers, and made sure it was set to print. Then the 'Happy Birthday'. This was a pre-designed element from the cricut library. Again, make sure it's set to print and flatten layers.
Time to cut! Print then cut!
I opted to hide from view the white card front and cut it out myself. And since I was using the BS to cut the circle I hid that too. Hit the go button, make sure the preview looks right, and you're off to the races! While my pieces were P&Cing, I embossed my card front with a Swiss Dots embossing folder. Add the bracket border and die cut the circle. Turn the front over and adhere window sheet, transparency, acetate, whatevs. Add a dimensional foam adhesive border around the window and edges (so there's no drooping when adhered to the card base). Sprinkle in your choice of bling (I'm loving the Recollections glitter shapes). Then place the card base on top to seal in the goodness. I find this to be the most difficult part of the project. Making sure everything is lined up and spaced correctly while blind. I'm gonna have to figure out a better way to do this. Jennifer McGuire and KWerner do lots of shakers. There may be a youtube binge in my future. Flip to the front. Add your sentiment and Elsa, with dimensionals if you so choose. Frost it all up with some clear Wink of Stella. Et Viola! One beautiful and fun shaker card that will melt the ice in any Frozen heart. You just have to Let it Go, Let it Go...

Timeless Butterfly Shaker Card

Hello my crafty peeps! Today's tutorial is featuring the Timeless Texture Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! I don't have any of their neutral stamp pads so I've been experimenting with the brights and subtle colors. Lovin' it! It's so easy to reach for the neutral shades when adding background textures. I challenge you to think outside the color box and have some kaleidi-color fun! This is also a shaker card. I've been making so many of these. It's really addictive. Especially when you stop at your local craft store and get fun sequin/glitter shapes to add to the shaker. My son is a guest crafter and making his own card. It's a good idea to start you're kids early in the crafty arts. Lol. There's also a little blender pen action. I've put in an order for Stampin' Up!'s shimmery white CS which is supposed to be a fantastic surface to watercolor and blender pen on.

Hello Flamingo card

It's been such a busy week. We're in the process of HOUSE HUNTING! It's exciting and I'm looking forward to finding a home that meets our needs. I can't wait to have a dedicated art space that doesn't have people constantly walking through. It would be nice to have enough space to have in-house workshop, crops, and classes too. Fingers crossed!
As exciting as house hunting is it's exhausting. Between the bank, house viewings, and looking at listings on the internet my free time is pretty much gone. Still I have to squeeze in some artsy craftsy  time. I was about to go to bed when I realized I didn't have a card to post (which ended up being moot since I'm posting this today instead of last Saturday) So I sat down to do a quick card, and play around some more with my Stampin' Up! stuff. Here's what I came up with. Pop of Paradise stamp set is so much fun! And Timeless Textures and Gorgeous Grunge are fantastic for adding that little bit of something. I've been into top folding A2 cards lately and that's exactly what this one is.

Pop of Pineapple thank you card

I fell in love with Stampin' Up!'s Pop of Paradise suite. The black, white, and pink color scheme is gorgeous and the tropical themed stamps remind me of growing up in Florida. Flamingos will forever remind me of Epcot. Yep, it all comes back to Disney.

In the video tutorial for this card I show how to stamp with the Stampin' Write markers and how to double stamp to create depth and get more out of your stamp pads. There's also a little tip on how to get more out of your cardstock too.

And don't forget about the July promotion for Stampin' Up! For every $50 you spend you get a $5 coupon to use in August!

One Sheet Wonder

Hello my crafty peeps!
While scrolling through Pinterest I came across 'One sheet wonder' cards. My curiosity was piqued and I had to look into this concept further. I did just get the SU Pop of Paradise specialty designer series paper. I could do this and get the most out of these beautiful papers!

This is the paper I chose. It's double sided which means I get more options when designing my cards! One side is black and white, the other is melon mambo and white. Awesome color combos.

And here's the paper after cutting.
I started by making three cuts to get the following pieces: 2x12, 4x12, 6x12. Which are then cut into the following pieces. I listed them from the top of the pieces to the bottom.

The 2x12 piece:
4- 1x1
3- 2x2
1- 1.5x2
1- 2.5x2

The 4x12 piece:
4- 2x4
2- 1.5x2
1- 2.5x2.5
1- 1.5x2.5

The 6x12 piece:
2- 3x3
3- 2x5
4- 1.5x4

It can get a bit confusing. Once everything is cut the hardest part is deciding what pieces to use first. It's a little overwhelming looking at all the pretty bits of paper. I'll be doing an ongoing card series on how I'm using the pieces. Mostly because I thought it would be better for me to take it one card at a time.

Here's the 1st card of the one sheet wonder series! I used the 1x1 squares on the black and white side. Mounted them on 1.25x1.25 melon mambo squares. Stamped the polka dot flower from Petite Petals stamp set in Tempting Turquoise and punched out with the Petite Petals punch. The flowers are popped up with dimensionals and rhinestones added to the centers. The black ribbon is left over from my Paper Pumpkin kit. 'Congrats' is from the Happy Happenings stamp set in Tempting Turquoise. A quick simple card you can put together in less than 30min!

Hello my crafty people! I hope your summer is going well. The kiddos have been keeping me busy! I'm trying to get on a regular schedule with filming & posting videos. The plan is to post at least 1 video a week on Thursdays. That's a realistic goal, right? I want to start doing regular blog posts as well. So if there's any techniques or products you'd like to see leave me a comment and I'll do my best to accommodate.
So back to videos..I've filmed tutorials on these 2 cards. Just have to edit & upload. My son is a guest crafter on the butterfly shaker card. Gotta train them young. Lol. Check back on Thursday to see which card made the cut.
Until next time...Happy creating!

My big SU order came in! It was almost a week ago that it was delivered and I filmed the unboxing right away took some time to edit and upload the video. Paper Pumpkin new demonstrator kit demo (with a special guest!)

Hello everyone!
I was finally able to film, edit, and upload this video! It's a little long..32 minutes 12 seconds to be precise. I apologize in advance for the length. I sped up some of it but there were 3 projects to get done and I got a bit ambitious with the flowers. Learned a little something I did. Lol. took forever to upload and my laptop going into sleep mode kept freezing the entire process. But at last we persevered!
I was also joined by a special guest. My son sat down and made this kit with me! It was so much fun and I was happy to have him involved in my burgeoning business. It's never too early to teach them the value of working towards your dreams and goals. These Paper Pumpkin kits are a great way to interact with your kiddos and get them off all the electronics. Every month is a new surprise waiting in your mailbox! All the pieces are precut and ready to go. You provide the adhesive and creativity, Paper Pumpkin provides the rest.
Your first kit will come with a Stampin' Up! size D stamp block. Every kit will come with an exclusive stamp set and at least one ink spot. The colors of the ink spots will not repeat in a 12 month period so no need to worry about duplicates.
As a Paper Pumpkin subscriber you have access to past kits too. A full kit is $17 and will include everything you'll need to complete the projects except adhesive. A refill kit is $8 and will have everything but the stamp set and ink spots.
There are two ways to subscribe. Monthly and prepaid. Monthly is $19.95 a month and the shipping is included. Prepaid is $20 for 1 month, $59 for 3 months, $114 for 6 months, and $215 for 12 months. Prepaid subscriptions make great gifts for your crafty loved ones!

Without further ado, here's the video! Happy creating!

Coming soon...

Hello everyone,
I've edited and uploaded my demo of the paper pumpkin kit that came with my Stampin' Up! starter kit. It's a bit long and uploading it to YouTube turned into a major project. Tomorrow I plan on posting it here.
My big order (aka the major commitment order) arrived today! So the Unboxing video will be posted soon too. Lots of fun stuff to play with and get inspiration from. Which is exactly what I was doing tonight. After pizza & movie night with my kiddo that is. Here's a couple teaser pics of upcoming demos

Until next time...
Happy creating!
