Episode 89- Happy Bee-day card

Hello my crafty peeps!

Can you believe we're at the end of January already? Time flies, my friends. I've been busy putting together my Stamp of the Month Club (click here for more info) and getting ready for our Disney vacation in February. I'm looking forward to visiting the happiest place on Earth and getting to see my family.
For today's project, I'm featuring the Pun Intended Hostess Stamp set from the annual catalog. Since it is a hostess set you can only purchase it using Stampin' Rewards which you earn on purchases over $150. During Sale-a-bration that will qualify you for 3 free products from the Sale-a-bration brochure. Or you can host a virtual party and, based on the order totals from your party, you will receive the Stampin' Rewards.
I also used the Hexagon Dynamic embossing folder for the first time on this project. I'm. In. Love. Everyone who has a big shot or other die cut machine needs this folder. Seriously.
Until next time...happy crafting!

Episode 88- Very Valentine- Hello Love card and Project Life 3x4 card

Hello my crafty peeps!

I've got another Very Valentine project for y'all! Have I told you how much I love Valentine's Day? I love it a lot! Another thing I'm loving these days is the whole sending love suite. Everything in this collection is a winner! Today's card is featuring the mini envelopes from the framelit set. They are so cute! I cut them from the Sending love DSP so you can see the different papers in the pack. Which means that I have more mini envelopes than I needed for this project but now I have them on hand to add to other projects. When you're having a creativity slump, go to your craft space and make things that you can use on your projects. Do you like paper flower? Make a whole flower shop of them! Love butterflies? Get a bunch ready to fly across your cards or scrapbook pages. I have a supply on hand of things that I can easily add to my projects when they need a little something more.
Let's get back to today's project. We'll be making a card and a project life card so you can see how easy it is to take your card designs and turn them into something that can be used in memory keeping.
This is also a great project to do with your kids! Have them cut out all the envelopes and notes on the big shot. They'll love turning the handle and can have fun placing the framelit on the magnetic platform. Not only is it crafting...it's science! Lol.

Until next time...happy crafting!

February Stamp of the Month Club!

Hello my crafty peeps!

I've started a Stamp of the Month club! I'm so excited! It's a great way to start building your stamp and ink collection. So what do you have to do to join? All you have to do is spend a minimum of $35 at ecdesignsstudio.stampinup.net and use hostess code ENA4J3SK in the month of February. Easy right? Just make sure I'm able to contact you so I know where to send your club package and Thank-You card.
What will you receive? The paper materials to make 4 cards and envelopes and 2 Project Life cards. Everything will be precut, all you have to do is stamp and assemble. I do recommend getting the Stamp-a-ma-jig to help get perfect placement on the diecuts. You will also have access to an exclusive video tutorial on how to assemble the projects.
Another bonus? You'll receive all the new Stampin' Up! catalogs as long as you've placed an order within 6 months of their release. So if you join this month, you'll receive an Occasions catalog and the new annual catalog in June.
Keep in mind when placing your order that Sale-a-bration is going on so for every $50 you spend you'll get to pick out a Sale-a-bration item for free!

These are the products you will need to complete this month's projects

Episode 87- Thankful Thursday- Easy notecard

Hello my crafty peeps!

Welcome to another Thankful Thursday! I'll be using the So Very Much stamp set that is available in the Sale-a-bration brochure. For those of you who don't know, Sale-a-bration will be running through March 31 and for every $50 you spend you will be able to choose an item from the SAB brochure. It's a great time to place an order. We also have the new Occasions catalog with new products.
When I placed my order that included the So Very Much stamp set I accidentally put in the number for the wood mount set. I do prefer the clear mount or photopolymer but thought having a SU wood mount set would be a good idea. I know there are still some who want the wood mount and now I can speak with first hand experience. Lol.
I also order the Stamp-a-ma-jig which is an affordable stamp positioning tool to try out. It came in so handy and I'm so glad I bought it. I feel if you are a lover of wood mount stamps, this is a must have. It really helped to position the sentiment just right and I was able to stamp it right the first time and not have to waste any paper from stamping mistakes.

Hello my crafty peeps!

I love it when the UPS man drops of a Stampin' Up! package for me! I placed an order to take advantage of the year end closeout sale to grab some overstocked items and take advantage of Sale-a-bration. I'm really enjoying the SAB items I've collected and find them to be so versatile. Totally worth getting every item. I also desperately needed new cutting plates. Lol.

Episode 85- Very Valentine- Treat bag topper

Hello my crafty peeps!
In keeping with the class Valentines from last Saturdays' post, I thought I'd do little treat bag toppers. The 2 x 8 cello bags can be used for candy or pencils depending on your personal feelings about kids and sugar. I opted for pencils because it was what I had on hand. If my kiddo was at the age of needing valentines I would have made a trip to the store and purchased better pencils...and as it would turn out...more staples. Lol. Basically, I just wanted to give you an idea of what is possible.

Until next time...Happy crafting!

Episode 83- Tips & Techniques- Watercolor Pencils

Hello my crafty peeps!

There's so many wonderful new products in the Occasions catalog! I was thrilled to see that Stampin' Up! added watercolor pencils. I love watercolor and watercolor pencils are an amazing tool if you know how to use them. It's a cleaner and less intimidating way to get those watercolor effects on your projects. So today I'm playing around with the new pencil and doing some experimenting. That's the best way to learn new products. Just gotta get in the craft room and use them! I put together a couple cards at the end to show you some ways you can incorporate them into your projects.
Oh, these are great for kids to use. No cups of water to spill or blobs to clean up.

Here's some better pics of the cards I made.

Episode 82- Very Valentine Class Valentines

Hello my crafty peeps!

If you're a do-it-yourself-er, it's time to get ready for Valentine's day! And if you have little ones in pre-school or elementary grades then that means class parties. And during those class parties Valentine's will be handed out. I always loved to make these myself instead of buying the ones from the store. I would have my kiddo help design them. He also liked to turn the handle on the Big Shot whenever we did die cutting or embossing. It was a bonding time and I think getting our kids involved on creative endeavors is important. I designed these cards to show some options for the Sealed with Love bundle. You can absolutely get your kiddos involved and easily making their own designs. They'll love being able to customize designs for their friends and they'll be proud to show off their creations. I do recommend having baby wipes on hand and using the Stampin' Up! grid paper to protect your work surface. Supervision is also recommended to make sure their handling the photopolymer stamps gently and not cross contaminating your ink pads. The Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub is great to have on hand. A little prep and prevention will lead to a happy and productive crafting session with the little ones.

Dimensions:
Whisper White CS- 8 1/2 x 11" -score at 2 3/4" on each end of the 8 1/2" side, cut at 5 1/2 " and 4 1/4" on 11" side

Episode 81- Lift me Up Congrats card

Hello my crafty peeps!

Is it just me or is January flying by? Before you know it graduation time will be here. Our high school and college seniors will be moving onto the next big adventure in their lives. It's sad to see our babies grow up but it's satisfying to see them become happy successful adults. We give them roots then we give them wings.
So what does all this mean? We need to make some congratulation cards. I think the lift me up bundle is perfect for this. You get your sentiment across and the hot air balloon represents the journey they're on. Maybe I'm looking to deeply into it but...it's the artist in me. Lol.
The card I designed can easily be customized for a male or female recipient. Just change up the colors and patterns.

Smoky Slate CS- 4 1/4" x 11"
Cupcakes and Carousels DSP- 4" x 5 1/4"

Craft Room Tour 2017

Hello my crafty peeps!

As many of you know we bought our first home in November and have been slowly fixing it up and making it ours. I ended up with some extra time on my hands and thought that was time to paint my art room. It was a deep red color that was ok, but, it made the room feel dark and small. I do a lot of my creating at night and was tired of feeling like I was in a confined space.
So then came the hard part. Figuring out what color to paint the walls. We live in a log cabin and there's quite a bit of wood going on in the house. I've decided to lighten things up and balance the visual weight by doing more  of a beachy, shabby chic, victorian farmhouse sort of vibe for the rest of house. My art room should flow with that design. My favorite color is violet so I went with a lavender shade that was more than pastel but still a little subdued and classic white for the trim. I love the way it turned out and so far my organization is working for me. There is still more decorating and improvements I'd like to make but all that will be done in time.

Until next time...happy crafting!

New Years giveaway winners!

Hello my crafty peeps!
I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year's. My family and I stayed in and had a family game night to pass the time until the ball dropped.  It was a pleasant time with a little drama to spice it up from time to time.
So...the moment everyone's been waiting for...the winners of my giveaway.  I was going to post their names but decided to be more discrete and just email them privately. I'll leave it up to them to yell it from the roof tops for all to hear if they so choose. Lol.

That's it for today.  Until next time...happy crafting!
