Episode 136: Scrapbook Saturday! using Color Theory Suite

Hello my crafty peeps!

It's Scrapbook Saturday! The theme this week has been all about the Color Theory Suite. Since there's so many seasonal elements it's perfect for adding to scrapbook layouts. Today I'm scrapping an old family tradition that I had with my ex-husband and pickin'! I grew up in Florida so you can imagine there's not much in the way of apple orchards. It was such a novelty for me to go out in the crisp autumn air and pick my own apples. In the years since the air hasn't always been crisps, some years it was downright balmy! But it's always been a fun thing to do. And if you've never gone apple pickin' I highly recommend you do it at least once in your life. The apples taste so much better when you do.

New products will be available June 1st

Episode 135: Seasonal Layers Thinlits with bonus project

Hello my crafty peeps!

There are many new items in the new Annual Catalog. It's exciting to have new things to play with. My creative juices are flowing! I'm looking forward to June and July when I hope to be able to get everything on my wishlist. That's the goal anyway. We'll see how my wallet feels about it. Lol.

The Color Theory Suite is a fun and versatile set of products that will take you through an entire year of seasons. The Colorful Seasons stamp set and Seasonal Layers thinlits can be purchased individually or you can save 10% by purchasing both in a bundle. It's sometimes hard to envision what the dies will look like once they are cut and how they coordinate with the stamp set. Let me help make that easier for you. I've filmed a video showing all the cut pieces and what stamps they will coordinate with. I've added photos of all the pieces and stamped images to this post as well.

I also filmed a quick tutorial using some of the products from the Suite. I'm making bookmarks to include with the new Annual Catalogs I'm sending out to my customers. Want to jump on the bandwagon and get your own copy of the catalog? Click on the Catalog request tab in the menu bar to find out how.

This Suite will be available starting June 1st.

Episode 133: Scrapbook Saturday! using Stampin' Up! Jar of Love bundle

Hello my crafty peeps!

Welcome to another Scrapbook Saturday! Today's layout features photos I took just a couple weeks ago. We love having bonfires on nice nights. It's a lovely way to have some family time unplugged from all the electronic devices in our modern world. This is our first Spring in our new home, our first home. The backyard is nice and big and has a small hill from the back of the yard to the house. A hill perfect to lay back on and gaze at the stars. There's not a lot of light pollution where we are which makes it perfect for stargazing. Or looking for UFOs...
I noticed my kiddo and the little princess laying next to each other with Benji cat and rushed over to take some pics. I love how they turned out and couldn't wait to scrap them. I'm continuing to use retiring products mixed with products that will continue to be available.

Episode 132: Eastern Palace White Gift Box

Hello my crafty peeps!

I'm going to miss the White Gift Boxes. They are perfect for home decor or gift giving. All you bakers out there will find these fit standard size cookies quite well. If you require the services of a taste tester I willingly volunteer. Lol. And the boxes and bags from Stampin' Up! are food safe. Bonus! These are so easy to decorate especially with the stamp sets and punches/dies you'll find in my online store. The hardest part is tying the bow!

Love the Lemon-Lime Twist ribbon? Me too! In my video I'll show you how you can dye ribbon to any color you need.

Note: Lemon-Lime twist and Eastern Palace DSP are only available in the Eastern Palace bundles from May 1-31. June 1st they will be available individually in the annual catalog.

Episode 131: Bonjour Beautiful card using retiring Stampin' Up!

Hello my crafty peeps!

This is a fantastic time to combine the old and the new! The card I show you today has retiring elements like the Petite Petals set mixed with some of the new In Colors. I love the color combination of Pink Pirouette, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Fresh Fig. Very Springtime! And boy is it good to have Spring here. My apple and pear trees will be blooming soon and I can't wait to have that view outside my art room. This is a simple card that is perfect for beginner or advanced crafters and stampers.

Note: Lemon-Lime Twist and Fresh Fig are only available in the Eastern Palace bundles May 1-31. June 1st they will be available individually through the Annual Catalog.

Episode 130: Scrapbook Saturday! using the Eastern Palace Suite

Hello my crafty peeps!
Welcome to the last day of Eastern Palace Suite week! I had so much fun doing Suite Week that I think I'll have to start doing it with other Suites.

Today it's Scrapbook Saturday so I simply had to do a scrapbook layout. I decided to use photos of when I got my nose pierced. Since nose piercings are a part of Indian Culture and I feel the Eastern Palace Suite has an Indian flare, I thought this would be a good theme. While I didn't pierce my nose for any religious purposes, I acknowledge the beauty and meaning behind the Hindu practice.

Episode 129: Eastern Palace card using the Starter bundle

Hello my crafty peeps!
Welcome to Day 4 of Eastern Palace Suite Week!

Today I'll be using the Starter Bundle to create a thank you card. I did use some products from my stash; like some Dapper Denim CS, Banner Triple Punch, and Rhinestones. Use what you have on hand already. I also cheated a little. Instead of fussy cutting the medallion, which can totally be done, I used the coordinating framelit. You'll also have to imagine that I'm using the Very Vanilla note cards that are included for free in the starter bundle. I only had Whisper White on hand...

Eastern Palace card with ink blending!

Hello my crafty peeps!
Welcome to day 3 of Eastern Palace Suite week! Today's card is using the Premier bundle. I LOVE this bundle. The Eastern Medallion thinlits are so lovely and there's so much you can do with them. And when you pair them with some ink blending it's almost magical. With this bundle you will receive a free pack of Very Vanilla Thick CS and medium envelopes. I used a piece of Very Vanilla Thick CS cut at 4 1/4" x 11" scored @ 5 1/2" as a card base.

1. Cut a piece of Dapper Denim CS to 4" x 5 1/4"
2. Cut a piece of Whisper White CS to 3 3/4" x 5" and add a coat of clear Wink of Stella
3. Cut another piece of Whisper White CS to 3 3/4" x 5".
4. Use a sponge brayer and Lemon-Lime twist ink to the bottom half making sure to lightly blend toward center.
5. Do the same with Tranquil Tide ink to the top of the card.
6. Continue until you have a soft blend between the two colors. This takes practice, be patient.
7. Use Craft Whisper White ink to stamp 'flower' outline. Let dry for a minute then use a paper towel to smear and soften any ink not dried.
8. Time to get out the Big Shot! Place medallions onto ink blended piece and run through your Big Shot.
9. Rub Embossing Buddy over ink blended and died piece. Use Versamark to stamp sentiments. Cover stamped images with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder and use heat tool to melt.
10. Adhere card layers together with SNAIL.
11. Decide who you're sending your handmade card to!

Episode 128: Eastern Palace Card using the Premier bundle

Hello my crafty peeps!
Welcome to Day 2 of Eastern Palace Suite Week!

Today I'm using the Premier Bundle to make 2 simple and elegant cards. I love the delicate cutouts and the glitter bling that shines through. I'll also be showing you a technique using your embossing powders and glitter that opens up all new options with your embossing supplies. You can also use any sentiment stamp that you have on hand and not just the ones included in this set.

It's Eastern Palace Suite Week!

Hello my crafty peeps!
Welcome to day 1 of Eastern Palace Suite week! Starting today you can order one of the bundles and get your hands on these products before the annual catalog release on June 1st. Whether you choose the Starter or Premier, you're going to love this Suite. The card I designed for today mostly uses the Starter kit. I did use the coordinating dies for the flower but you can fussy cut if you don't have them.

I used a Whisper White note card as a base, you will receive a free pack of Very Vanilla note cards and envelopes with the Starter bundle.

1. (Optional step) Take Dapper Denim marker and a Tim Holtz marker spritzer and add small splatters to background.
2. Cut the DSP to fit the width of the card. The sheets are double sided and I used both sides of 1 sheet. Adhere to card with SNAIL.
3. Place flower gold vinyl sticker onto Whisper White and fussy cut or use coordinating dies.
4. Decorate card base with more stickers.
5. Add flower with a dimensional.
6. Stamp 'hello' in Tranquil Tide and add a small sticker and rhinestone to end of 'o'
7. Sit back and enjoy the handmade card you just crafted.
